Moving out? Leave a card for your mail
After a tenancy ends, letters and delivery slips keep landing at the old address. Fill in 3 fields, print the card and leave it in the mailbox - the new tenant and the postal worker will know how to get your mail to you.
How to leave the card so it works
- Put the card in a plastic sleeve or cover it with tape - mailboxes get damp.
- Stick it inside the mailbox or on the inner side of the flap. A card left loose on top disappears fast.
- For the long run, also set up mail redirection at the post office - the card works right away, redirection covers the rest.
Why does it work? Because banks, offices and clinics update your address late, and some letters always go to the old one. A card with contact details means you get a phone call instead of a return to sender.
