Viewing checklist

Before contact

  • Add up the full monthly cost: rent + the administrative fee (czynsz) + utilities - and compare it with your budget.

  • Ask about the deposit amount and its return terms before booking a viewing.

  • Confirm the move-in date and whether the photos show the current state of the apartment.

During viewing

  • Check the heating type and ask for last winter's bills.

  • Note the window orientation and the noise source outside - open a window and listen.

  • Inspect corners, alcoves, and window surrounds for damp and mold.

  • Run the shower and the taps - water pressure can only be checked on site.

  • Check cell coverage in every room, including the bathroom and the kitchen.

  • Test the appliances: washing machine, fridge, and stove - switch them on, do not just look.

Before signing

  • Get in writing what exactly the administrative fee covers and what you pay separately.

  • Understand the contract type: a standard lease or najem okazjonalny (the latter requires a notary visit).
